To facilitate the know-how transfer and to ensure a permanent communication channel between the members of the Danube Port Community, there is a need for a sustainable structure to be implemented. The DAPhNE Project delivers this structure, namely the Danube Ports Network Platform.
In order to achieve it, the Initial Meeting of Danube Ports Network was organized on 15th February 2018, in Galati, Romania. The meeting was hosted by Pro Danube Romania (PDR) and brought together 48 project team members, each partner of the Project Consortium being represented.
The meeting was facilitated by Mr. Manfred Seitz, representing Pro Danube International, which is the Lead Partner and the initiator of the DAPhNE Project. Mr. Seitz coordinated a structured brainstorming session to discuss the purpose, the mission, the vision, the structure and the next steps for setting up this network, as well as to ensure its functionality and sustainability after the finalization of the project.
The Danube Ports Network will be set-up in line with a concept agreed by the consortium members and it will enable the promotion and further dissemination of the deliverables, outputs and results of the DAPhNE project. This platform will be open to all interested parties. The Danube Ports Network Platform will also have a dedicated website as of July 2018.
The next public event organized by the DAPhNE Project is the Port Policy Day, which will take place in Bruxelles, expected in Q 2/3 in 2018. More details about this event will follow in due time.
